The Nutcracker

Holiday season magic from Commonwealth Ballet as the fifteenth annual presentation of The Nutcracker returns to Regis College, Casey Theatre and Acton Boxborough High School for eight spectacular shows. Featuring special guest stars, Company dancers, and over 60 children as Clara's dream comes to life with humor, musicality and exciting dancing. The lavish sets, colorful costumes, and a magical Christmas tree that grows to unbelievable heights set the stage for the battle between the Nutcracker and the Mouse King. Journey to the Snow Kingdom and join Clara in her dream of a magical land of holiday sweets and greet sparkling dancers, Mother Ginger, glittering flowers and the Dew Drop Fairy.
The Nutcracker features Vitali Krauchenka from the American Ballet Theatre and international star Anna Liceica as Cavalier and Sugar Plum Fairy during the Acton performances; Lindsay Moncrieff and Sean Sessions from Butler Ballet will dance those roles at Regis College. Michael Johnson, formerly of Boston Ballet, stars as the Snow King. The 16 dancers of Commonwealth Ballet and over 70 children and adults from local communities complete the cast.
