The Dancers

 

Alexandra Bookis

Alexandra Bookis is from Acton and began studying ballet at Acton School of Ballet in 2002. Her summer intensive programs include Burklyn Ballet Theatre, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Walnut Hill and ASB. Alexandra joined Commonwealth Ballet in 2010 and has performed in A Small Thing, Lost. In this year’s The Nutcracker she danced as Russian and Neapolitan Soloist, Merliton, and Snow and Flower Corps.


Kristen Carpenter

Kristen Carpenter lives in Acton and has studied ballet at Acton School of Ballet from 2000-2006, and since 2009. She is a teaching assistant for Pre-Ballet. Kristen also studied at Walnut Hill Dance Academy 2006-2009. She has attended summer intensive programs at Kaatsbaan Extreme Ballet, American Ballet Theater, North Carolina Dance Theatre, Walnut Hill, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and Boston Ballet. Kristen joined Commonwealth Ballet in 2009 and has performed in A Small Thing, Lost, The Nightingale, Trifles & Bagatelles and Adjustable Wrench. In this year's The Nutcracker Kristen danced the roles of Snow Queen, Columbine Doll, Arabian and Chinese Soloist, Merliton, and Snow and Flower Corps


Leah Goss

Leah Goss resides in Stow and in 2001 began studying at Acton School of Ballet, where she is also a teaching assistant for Pre-Ballet. Her early training includes L’Ecole de Ballet and Concord School of Ballet. Leah joined Commonwealth Ballet in 2009 and has performed roles in A Small Thing, Lost, Canto Nuovo, The Nightingale and Adjustable Wrench. Leah has attended summer intensive programs at Joffrey Ballet, Kaatsbaan Extreme Ballet, Walnut Hill, ASB and Burklyn Ballet Theatre. This year's The Nutcracker featured Leah in the roles of Columbine Doll, Dew Drop Fairy, Arabian Soloist, Merliton, and Snow and Flower Corps.


Alisa Graham-Brown

Alisa Graham-Brown lives in Westford and began her ballet studies at Acton School of Ballet in 2007. Her earlier training includes Westford Studio of Ballet Arts and Ekeby Dans Skolan in Uppsala, Sweden. She has attended summer intensive programs at Bolshoi Ballet, Walnut Hill and ASB. Alisa joins Commonwealth Ballet this season after three seasons performing with Commonwealth Ballet in non-Company roles. In this year's The Nutcracker she danced as Russian Soloist, Merliton, Party Teen, and Flower Corps.


Cecilia Hoff

Cecilia Hoff is from Littleton, has studied ballet at Acton School of Ballet since 2000, and is currently a teaching assistant for Pre-Ballet. She has attended summer intensive programs at Burklyn Ballet Theatre, Walnut Hill, and ASB and, since joining Commonwealth Ballet in 2009, has performed in A Small Thing, Lost, The Nightingale, Canto Nuovo and Adjustable Wrench. In this year's The Nutcracker she danced as the Columbine Doll, Merliton, Neapolitan Soloist, Spanish Girl, and Snow and Flower Corps.


Vanessa Lee

Vanessa Lee resides in Acton and began training at the Acton School of Ballet in 2000. She is now a teaching assistant in the Level 2 ballet class. Vanessa has attended summer intensive programs at Joffrey Ballet, American Repertory Ballet’s Princeton Ballet School, The Rock School of Ballet and Walnut Hill. She joined Commonwealth Ballet in 2008 and has danced in A Small Thing, Lost, The Nightingale, Canto Nuovo, and Adjustable Wrench. In this year's production of The Nutcracker, Vanessa danced the roles of Snow Queen, Chinese Soloist, Merliton, and Snow and Flower Corps.


Katherine Macarthur

Katherine Macarthur lives in Acton, has studied at Acton School of Ballet since 2003, and is now a teaching assistant for the Level 2 ballet class. Her summer intensive programs include American Repertory Ballet’s Princeton Ballet School, Orlando Ballet, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, American Academy of Ballet, Walnut Hill, Boston Ballet and ASB. Since joining Commonwealth Ballet in 2009 Katherine has performed roles in A Small Thing, Lost, The Nightingale, Canto Nuovo and Adjustable Wrench. In this year's The Nutcracker she danced as Dew Drop Fairy, Columbine Doll, Merliton, Russian Soloist, Spanish Girl, and Snow and Flower Corps.


Tamiko Murphy

Tamiko Murphy is from Acton and has studied ballet in 2004 at Volee Classical Ballet School in Palo Alto CA, at Boston Ballet in 2005, and at Acton School of Ballet since 2006. Her summer intensive programs include Boston Ballet, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Walnut Hill and ASB. Tamiko joined Commonwealth Ballet in 2010 and performed roles in A Small Thing, Lost. In this year's The Nutcracker she danced as Chinese and Russian Soloist, Spanish Girl, Merliton, and Snow and Flower Corps


Rose Petrozzino

Rose Petrozzino resides in Acton, began her ballet studies at Acton School of Ballet in 2000, and is now a teaching assistant in the First Steps ballet class. She has attended summer intensive programs at Kaatsbaan Extreme Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Burklyn Ballet Theatre and ASB. Rose joins Commonwealth Ballet this season after five seasons performing with Commonwealth Ballet in non-Company roles. In this year's The Nutcracker, she danced as Lieutenant, Spanish Girl, Merliton and Flower Corps.


Emily Purdom

Emily Purdom lives in Acton and has studied ballet at Acton School of Ballet since 2003. She is now a teaching assistant in the Pre-Ballet class. Her summer intensive programs include Walnut Hill, Burklyn Ballet Theatre, Boston Ballet and ASB. Emily joined Commonwealth Ballet in 2009 and her past roles include performance in A Small Thing, Lost, The Nightingale, Canto Nuovo and Adjustable Wrench. In this year's The Nutcracker she danced as Dew Drop Fairy, Neapolitan and Arabian Soloist, Merliton, Spanish Girl, and Snow and Flower Corps.


Saneae Rose

Sanaea Rose

Sanaea Rose is from Acton, has studied at Acton School of Ballet since 2003, and is now a teaching assistant in Pre Ballet. Her summer intensive programs include Bossov Ballet and Jose Mateo's Ballet Theatre. Prior to joining Commonwealth Ballet this year, Sanaea performed in a non-Company role in The Nightingale. In this year's The Nutcracker she danced as Spanish Girl, Party Teen, and Snow and Flower Corps.


Mariel Ross

Mariel Ross resides in Littleton and since 2003 has studied at Acton School of Ballet, where she is a teaching assistant in the Leve1 1 ballet class. Her summer intensive programs include Joffrey Ballet, Walnut Hill and Southern New Hampshire Dance Theatre. Mariel joined Commonwealth Ballet in 2010 and has performed in A Small Thing, Lost. In this year's The Nutcracker she danced as Chinese and Neapolitan Soloist, Spanish Girl, Merliton, and Snow and Flower Corps.


JoJo Tsacoyeanes

JoJo Tsacoyeanes lives in Acton and in 2003 began training at Acton School of Ballet, where she is now the instructor for the First Steps class. She has attended summer intensive programs at American Ballet Theater, North Carolina Dance Theatre, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Walnut Hill and ASB. JoJo joined Commonwealth Ballet in 2008 and has danced in Orton Dances, Trifles & Bagatelles, Adjustable Wrench, The Nightingale, and A Small Thing, Lost. In this year's The Nutcracker JoJo was featured in the roles of Snow Queen, Dew Drop Fairy, and Arabian Soloist.


Emma Werowinski

Emma Werowinski is from Acton and began her ballet studies at Acton School of Ballet in 2002. She is now a teaching assistant in the Level 2 ballet class. She has attended summer intensive programs at Chautauqua School of Dance, Burklyn Ballet Theatre, Bolshoi Ballet, Walnut Hill and ASB. Emma joins Commonwealth Ballet this season after six seasons performing with Commonwealth Ballet in non-Company roles. In this year's The Nutcracker she danced as Merliton, Party Teen, and Snow and Flower Corps.


Joy Zhong

Joy Zhong resides in Acton and began her ballet studies at Acton School of Ballet in 2003. She has attended summer intensive programs at Next Generation Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet, Walnut Hill, Acton School of Ballet and Angel Dance Company where she has been a member since 2006. Joy joins Commonwealth Ballet this season after four seasons performing with Commonwealth Ballet in non-Company roles. In this year’s The Nutcracker she danced as Party Teen and Flower Corps.


Apprentice

 

Benjamin Kuefler

Benjamin Kuefler resides in Stow and began studying ballet at Acton School of Ballet in 2007. His summer intensive programs include Briansky Ballet Center, and Walnut Hill. Before becoming an apprentice with Commonwealth Ballet, Benjamin performed in non-Company roles for four seasons. In this year's The Nutcracker he danced as Party Teen and Chinese partner.
