Once upon a time,
a Merchant lived with his three daughters...

In the classic tale of true love, when Belle asks her father for only a rose, the simple act of plucking the beautiful flower from a bush during his travels ends with a death sentence from The Beast. Belle courageously offers her life in place of her father's. The ugly beast falls in love with Belle and the stage is set for the discovery that true love is based on inner beauty.

Commonwealth Ballet dancers are joined by a cast of young dancers and guest artists, performing to the music of Respighi. Join us for this narrated tale of charity, honor, grace, and true love.
